Where is the bio link on Instagram?

Instagram places bio links in the profile header, but the exact visible label can vary by account state, link title, and app cache. Use this checklist to find the link and verify it before relying on the traffic.

How to find the Instagram bio link

These steps work for visitors checking someone else's profile and for account owners confirming a newly published link.

1. Open the profile page

Tap the account name or search for the account, then stay on the main profile view instead of a post, Reel, or story screen.

2. Check the profile header

Look under the profile name, category, bio copy, and contact buttons. Instagram displays published website links in this header area.

3. Tap once and watch the resolved URL

Confirm the link opens the expected page, store, app screen, or link menu. Avoid copying a URL from a cached preview without testing it.

4. Return to the profile after edits

If you own the account, reopen the public profile after saving changes so you can verify the visible label and click behavior.

Owner QA before you send traffic

If the profile belongs to your team, treat the Instagram bio field like a live campaign route. A visible link is not enough; the destination and attribution need to pass too.

CheckPass condition
VisibilityPublic profile shows the intended link or link-list title after refresh.
DestinationThe tap opens the current campaign URL, not an expired page or draft environment.
Mobile routingiOS and Android in-app browser tests reach the same intended destination.
AttributionUTM source, medium, campaign, and button parameters survive every redirect hop.
FallbackVisitors without the app installed still reach a useful web destination.
MonitoringA first test click appears in link analytics or GA4 with the expected campaign values.

When the link is missing

Refresh the app, check the same profile from a browser, and ask the account owner whether the website field was saved. For owned accounts, verify that the link title is not hidden and the destination uses HTTPS.

Findability and measurement should be tested together

A bio link that appears in the right place can still send visitors to the wrong route. Check the public profile, tap through on mobile, and confirm the click evidence before promoting the account.
